International Congress of the Astronomical Youth
La Société astronomique de France organise du 28 au 30 juin 2024 la première édition en présentiel de l’International Congress of the Astronomical Youth (ICAY) à l’ENS PSL, Paris, France. Nous accueillerons durant ces 3 jours jusqu’à une soixantaine d’étudiants à l’international. Conférences, tables rondes et visites de lieux emblématiques de l’astronomie constitueront notre quotidien partagé entre les communautés internationales de recherche scientifique et étudiante.
Les parrains scientifiques de cet événement sont Hélène Courtois, cosmographe et vice-présidente de l’université Lyon 1, et Jean-Philippe Uzan, cosmologiste et directeur de recherche CNRS IAP.
Un logement au cœur de Paris est proposé aux étudiants à bas coût. Nous voulons que les étudiants prennent part à l’ICAY autant que les chercheurs. Pour cela, des créneaux de présentation leur sont réservés, ils font l’objet d’un appel à projets inclus dans le formulaire d’inscription au congrès : https://forms.gle/qRqZ562UmpRBLBY58. De plus, les tables rondes de l’ICAY feront intervenir 3 étudiants et 3 chercheurs dans le domaine concerné.

The French Astronomical Society is organizing the first International Congress of the Astronomical Youth (ICAY) from 28 to 30 June 2024 in Paris, France. This first edition will take place at the École normale supérieure. During these three days, we will welcome up to sixty international students. During the congress, the international scientific and student research communities will engage with each other at conferences, round tables and visits to noteworthy sites in Paris related to astronomy.
The scientific sponsors of this event are Hélène Courtois, cosmographer and vice-president of Lyon 1 University, and Jean-Philippe Uzan, cosmologist and CNRS IAP research director.
Low-cost accommodation in the heart of Paris is offered to the participating students. Since ICAY is designed so that students take an active part in the congress alongside the researchers, specific presentation slots are reserved for students. They are the subject of a call for projects included in the congress registration form: https://forms.gle/qRqZ562UmpRBLBY58. Each ICAY round table will involve 3 students and 3 researchers in the relevant field.
