Patrick Baradeau, secrétaire général de la SAF (et président de 2014 à 2021), a désormais un astéroïde qui porte son nom : (40233) Baradeau. L’annonce a été publiée dans le bulletin de juin 2022 du WGSBN (Working Group on Small Body Nomenclature). L’astéroïde a été découvert le 20 octobre 1998 par l’OCA-DLR Asteroid Survey (ODAS) avec le télescope Schmidt de 90 cm du plateau de Calern (Caussols).

Patrick Baradeau (b. 1952) is a French historian and publisher. He worked with the Ministry of National Education and he was president and secretary general of the Société astronomique de France from 2014 to 2021. He was also the Director of the publication of the magazine l’Astronomie.
