L’astéroïde (44360) Ferlet
Roger Ferlet, astrophysicien et ancien président de la SAF (entre 1997 et 2001), a désormais un astéroïde qui porte son nom : (444360) Ferlet. L’annonce a été publiée dans le bulletin de février 2023 du WGSBN (Working Group on Small Body Nomenclature). L’astéroïde a été découvert le 18 septembre 1998 par l’OCA-DLR Asteroid Survey (ODAS) avec le télescope Schmidt de 90 cm du plateau de Calern (Caussols).

Roger Ferlet (b. 1948) is a French astrophysicist using UV and visible-light spectroscopy to study interstellar abundances, exoplanets atmospheres, and the β Pic system and its exo-comets. He was involved in the first discovery of a microlensing event. He contributes to public outreach and was President of the Société astronomique de France.
